I have been a Hawaii Consumer Bankruptcy attorney since 1995. Before representing debtors in bankruptcy, that I was exposed to bankruptcy by representing creditors as a Honolulu bankruptcy attorney. I quickly saw that the way to really make a difference (which was why I went to law school in the first place) was to assist the honest but unfortunate debtor to gain a fresh start. So, I became a Hawaii Consumer Bankruptcy Attorney. I have never regretted the decision. Jean Christensen who works with me on every case is also a consumer Bankruptcy lawyer who has been practicing bankruptcy law for six years, two of which were as the “elbow” law clerk to the Honorable Robert J Faris. Jean also received the CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in Debtor Creditor Law, Secured Transactions, Negotiable Instruments, Admiralty Law and Second Year Seminar, for the highest grade in each of those classes, and also the Hawaii State Bar Association, Bankruptcy Law Section, Gregory Conlan Memorial Prize for Achievement in the Study of Bankruptcy law.
